Kees Hoving
Kees Hoving is a global banking executive with more than 25 years of experience in corporate banking, transaction services, and regional leadership across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Most recently, he served as Chairman of Corporate Bank MEA and Chief Country Officer for the UAE at Deutsche Bank—one of Europe's largest investment banks with €1.4 trillion in assets under management and operations spanning 58 countries—until his retirement in 2025, having previously held the role of Co-CEO for Middle East and Africa from 2020-2024. During his tenure as Co-CEO for Middle East and Africa (2020-2024), Kees played a pivotal role in Deutsche Bank's regional expansion, helping the bank secure recognition as "Africa's Best Bank for Financing" by Euromoney Magazine in 2023 for its innovative ESG financing solutions and infrastructure development initiatives. Under his leadership, Deutsche Bank MEA strengthened its position supporting critical infrastructure investments and delivering cost-efficient financing solutions across the continent's fastest-growing economies. Kees joined Deutsche Bank in 2010 and held progressively senior roles including Head of Corporate Transaction Banking Germany, CEO of Deutsche Bank Nederland N.V., Head of Global Transaction Banking for EMEA (excluding Germany), and Chief Country Officer for the Netherlands, where he successfully streamlined operations and refocused on high-value international clients. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he spent 14 years at leading institutions including Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America, JPMorgan, and ING across London, Frankfurt, Moscow, and Amsterdam. Kees holds a Master of Science in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nyenrode University, and a Certificate of Corporate Governance from INSEAD.
