Job Summary
We are seeking an experiences Principal to represent YXS Capital in San Francisco and lead our on-the-ground presence in the Bay Area.
This is a senior investment role for a highly driven venture investor with deep SF ecosystem credibility, strong judgment, and the ambition to operate at the highest level of the industry. You will serve as a core extension of the partnership, representing YXS Capital locally while remaining tightly aligned with global strategy.
The role reports directly to the Managing Partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Ecosystem Leadership.
- Identify and originate high-quality investment opportunities from Seed / Series A through Series D in the Bay Area.
- Maintain an active, high-trust presence with founders, venture firms, angels, accelerators, and operators.
- Consistently represent YXS Capital as a long-term, high-conviction partner within the SF ecosystem.
Investment Execution
Lead investments end-to-end, including sourcing, founder engagement, diligence, investment memos, IC discussions, and execution. Partner closely with the Managing Partners on conviction-building, portfolio construction, and strategic decision-making.
Portfolio Monitoring and Value Creation
Support portfolio companies through active engagement, strategic guidance, and selective hands-on involvement. Contribute to monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for value creation across the portfolio.
Brand, Reputation, and Market Leadership
Maintain and expand YXS Capital’s brand recognition and reputation across the Bay Area through curated events, private dinners, conferences, and ecosystem engagement. Represent the firm with credibility, consistency, and seniority.
Thought Leadership and Market Research
Contribute to investment theses, market research, and forward-looking insights on emerging technologies and sectors. Participate in shaping YXS Capital’s perspective as a thought leader alongside the broader investment team.
Global Initiatives
Support global firm initiatives, including strategic partnerships, cross-border opportunities, and selective government or institutional relationships. Up to 20 percent travel expected.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Venture Experience
8+ years of experience in venture capital, with time spent at an established and highly respected SF-based VC firm. Strong understanding of Seed / Series A through growth-stage investing dynamics.
San Francisco Network
Deep, authentic relationships across the SF startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, and operators. Proven ability to source proprietary opportunities through trust, reputation, and sustained presence.
High Ownership and Intensity
Comfortable operating with significant autonomy, responsibility, and pace. This role requires consistent high output, long hours when needed, and a strong internal drive to perform at the top of the field.
Founder-Aligned, Institutionally Minded
You treat founders as long-term partners while maintaining rigorous investment standards. You balance empathy with discipline and independent thinking.
Clear Communicator
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to articulate investment theses, founder narratives, and market insights with clarity, confidence, and precision.
