Investment Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and driven Associate to join YXS Capital and serve as a core component of our investment execution engine.

This is a high-intensity, execution-focused role for an individual with a top-tier technology investment banking background who thrives in rigorous analytical environments and takes pride in precision, ownership, and output. You will operate at the center of the investment process, working directly with the Managing Partners and contributing to every stage of investment decision-making.

This is not a sourcing or relationship-driven role. It is a role for someone who wants to build conviction through analysis, drive diligence at an institutional standard, and play a decisive role in capital allocation.

The role reports directly to the Managing Partners.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis and Financial Modeling

Build and own financial models across all active investment opportunities, including revenue build-ups, unit economics, valuation frameworks, sensitivity analyses, and fund-level return scenarios. Ensure analytical rigor and accuracy across all outputs.

‍Investment Materials and IC Preparation

Draft detailed investment memoranda synthesizing quantitative analysis, market context, risk factors, and return scenarios. Maintain a high standard of clarity, precision, and analytical depth in all materials presented to the Investment Committee.

Due Diligence and Verification

Lead structured, end-to-end diligence processes across financials, customer validation, technology, legal considerations, competitive positioning, and capital structure. Maintain full ownership of the verification process and ensure all conclusions are grounded in validated data.

Market Research and Valuation Discipline

Conduct sector analysis, comparable transaction benchmarking, and market mapping to support investment theses, entry pricing, and exit pathway evaluation.

Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting

Track portfolio company performance, analyze key operating metrics, and support quarterly reporting processes. Identify material developments and provide structured insights for Managing Partner review.

Process and Infrastructure Development

Maintain deal pipeline systems, diligence workflows, and data room organization. Contribute to building scalable internal processes that support a growing institutional platform.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Investment Banking Experience

2–5 years of experience in a top-tier technology investment banking program, including bulge bracket or elite boutique firms. Strong exposure to technology transactions is required.

Analytical Excellence

Exceptional financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to build models from first principles, stress-test assumptions, and defend outputs under scrutiny.

Diligence Discipline

Demonstrated ability to conduct institutional-quality diligence, with a focus on verification, accuracy, and independent validation of key assumptions and data points.

Ownership and Execution Intensity

Comfortable operating in a high-performance environment with significant responsibility and expectations for consistent output. Strong internal drive, attention to detail, and accountability.

Interest in Venture Capital

Clear intellectual curiosity for early-stage technology companies and a desire to develop long-term investment judgment within a venture capital environment.

Communication Skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to translate complex analysis into clear, structured, and decision-oriented insights.
