Role Description
We are hiring a Director of Portfolio Operations to lead value creation across the YXS Capital portfolio. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role for someone who works directly with founders to drive growth, unlock revenue opportunities, and support operational scaling. You will operate at the intersection of investing and execution, working closely with Managing Partners and portfolio companies on high-priority initiatives. This includes go-to-market strategy, partnerships, and operational improvements that directly influence company performance. This is not an advisory-only role — you are expected to contribute to real outcomes. This role is designed for candidates who have strong operational experience, commercial judgment, and the ability to execute across multiple companies in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Value Creation: Work directly with portfolio companies to support growth initiatives, including go-to-market strategy, revenue expansion, and operational improvements. Identify key bottlenecks and execute on high-impact priorities.
- Strategic Partnerships & Revenue Enablement: Leverage YXS Capital’s network to facilitate enterprise, government, and strategic partnerships. Support introductions, partnership structuring, and execution of revenue-generating initiatives.
- Operational Scaling & Execution: Support founders across hiring, processes, and organizational development. Assist companies in scaling from early traction to sustained growth.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Track company performance across key metrics, including revenue growth and operational KPIs. Maintain structured visibility and identify areas requiring intervention.
- Cross-Portfolio Initiatives: Drive initiatives across the portfolio, including sharing best practices, leveraging network effects, and supporting collaboration between companies.
- Ad Hoc & Cross-Functional Support: Contribute across the firm on operational, strategic, and internal initiatives aligned with evolving priorities.
What We're Looking For
- Operational Experience: 8+ years in consulting, operating roles, venture capital platform teams, or high-growth startups. Experience working directly with founders preferred.
- Execution Capability: Strong ability to identify problems, structure solutions, and execute in fast-moving environments.
- Commercial Judgment: Experience supporting revenue growth, partnerships, or strategic initiatives. Ability to connect companies with meaningful opportunities.
- Work Ethic and Intensity: Willingness to operate in a high-performance environment with significant ownership and accountability.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with founders, operators, and internal stakeholders. Clear and structured communication style.
- Interest in Venture Capital: Strong interest in technology, startups, and value creation within a venture environment.
